As I friend of Filipino American WWII veterans and their families, I urge you to CO-SPONSOR the "Military Families Act," S. 1109 of Senators Menendez and Inouye.

This bill will authorize the adjustment of status for immediate family members of persons who served honorably in the Armed Forces of the United States during the Afghanistan and Iraq conflicts and includes our Filipino American WWII veterans, who have patiently waited for their sons and daughters with approved petitions for more than 10 years.

Recall in May 2006, the Senate unanimously passed an earlier version (S. Amdt. 4029 to the Sen. Akaka's bill S. 2611).

These elderly WWII veterans bravely fought and served as U.S. soldiers in defending our flag and country. They deserve the companionship and care from their children during their few remaining years in the USA.

As a friend of Filipino American veterans, I urge you to cosponsor H.R. 2638, the "Military Families Act" bill as introduced Rep. Bob FILNER of Hawaii.

This bill if passed by the House and Senate would provide priority issuance of visas to the sons and daughters of Filipino American veterans with approved immigration petitions who have patiently waited for more than decade.

These elderly WWII veterans bravely fought and served as U.S. soldiers in defending our flag and country. They deserve the companionship and care from their children during their twilight years in the USA.
